Roni Sumer Releases Watercolor Paintings

August 19, 2002

San Diego based watercolor artist Roni Sumer released two new original watercolor paintings to Giclče prints.

The painting "She Dances" depicts a young women in costume dancing at a Cinco de Mayo celebration. "The bright colors, swirling dances and rhythmic music of the festival provided tremendous aural and visual stimulation for me as an artist. It was very easy for me to envision this painting. However, I was especially challenged and enjoyed capturing the movement of the dress in front and behind the dancer as opposed to the stillness of her upper torso and head. As always, I found beautiful shadow and shading in her face and on the white part of her dress." says Roni.

The second in a series, "She Plays", depicts a young lady sitting cross-legged on an impressionistic ground playing a Spanish guitar. "She Dances had so much color I wanted to compliment it with something. The guitar and dress were perfect for this. As always I love painting the shadows in the shirt and dress and especially on the guitar itself" commented Roni.

The Giclče printing process uses watercolor paper and water-based inks that recreate the transparency and vivid colors that aretrue to the original work of art.

Giclče prints of Roni Sumer's work are available at select galleries and online at www.RoniSumer.com. ;
