Korea Multi Fine Tech Co. develops ‘Pocket-Guide', the New Gallery Guide System using Mobile PDA
Seoul, South Korea December 18 2003-- Multi Fine Tech Inc., of Seoul KR introduces The PDA Guide System, a groundbreaking technology which furnishes active media communications for museum, gallery and exhibition visitors. Designed as a replacement or supplement for traditional paper brochures, plaques, and narrators, the PDA will offer pictures, images, moving pictures and sounds as the visitor moves through the exhibits.
Using the Korea National Science Museum Mobile PDA System, it is possible to research information about exhibition matters in real time. By scanning the bar code installed at each exhibit using the built-in (or attached) PDA camera, the explanation of the exhibition will display on the screen of the PDA with Flash animation, moving picture, HTML documents, and various sounds of CD quality. Visitors may also customize their experience by browsing through the information of their choice, attaching it to e-mails for later viewing, and/or uploading the data through the Web so it may be utilized in the future.
This new system also makes managing the exhibit information easier, more flexible and less expensive in the long run. As opposed to plaques and paper brochures, data can be updated as often as needed, visitor assistance and guidance is streamlined, and event announcements can be made instantly and discreetly. The system may also reduce the number of employees needed to run the facility.
The Multi Fine Tech Co, selected as a system vendor, is preparing the commercial service at the Goethe House in Frankfurter, Germany, and is accepting orders from international exhibitions and galleries .
